The aim of Baden-Powell
Scouting is to develop good citizenship among it's members by training
them in habits of observation, obedience, and self reliance; teaching them
services useful to the public, and handicrafts useful to themselves;
promoting their physical, mental, and spiritual development.
The principles and
practice of Baden-Powell Scouting are founded on the basis of the Scout
Promise and the Scout Law.
The Scout Promise
On my honor I promise that I will do my best To do my
duty to God and country To help other people at all
times To obey the
Scout Law
The Scout Law
A Scout's honor is to be trusted. A Scout is loyal to country,
Scouters, parents, employers, and to those under them. A Scout's duty
is to be useful and to help others. A Scout is a friend to all, and a
brother to every other Scout, no matter to what country, class, or creed,
the other may belong. A Scout is courteous. A Scout is a friend to
animals. A Scout obeys the orders of parents, Patrol Leader, or Scout
Leader, without question. A Scout smiles and whistles under all
difficulties. A Scout is thrifty. A Scout is clean in thought, word, and
deed.
